After a busy summer transfer window, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard can be pleased with the impact made by his signings.

But the Blues will not want to rest on their laurels given the unpredictable opening to the Premier League season.

Adding another player that could slot into the starting XI or strengthen the options of the bench could be the difference between winning silverware this season.

While some players could look to leave Stamford Bridge in an effort to get more football elsewhere.

Barcelona are reportedly considering a move for Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger to replace the injured Gerard Pique.

Pique faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines and it leaves them short of experienced options in defence.

Rudiger has lost his place in the Chelsea team to Thiago Silva and is desperate to be in the Germany squad for next summer's European Championship.

According to Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona boss Ronald Koeman is considering Rudiger and Arsenal's Shkodran Mustafi.

Juventus and Inter Milan are set to go head-to-head in January to sign Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud.

The 34-year-old has had a diminished role this season following the arrival of Timo Werner but has stayed professional and last week scored an important goal in the Champions League to beat Rennes.

Giroud will be out of contract in the summer and while Frank Lampard is keen to keep him around, he's unlikely to stand in his way if a good offer came in.

Italian publication Tuttosport says Inter lead the chase for Giroud but Juventus want a target-man in January.

Bayern Munich star David Alaba will not hold talks with Chelsea next month about a move to the Premier League, according to reports in Germany.

Alaba is embroiled in a bitter row with Bayern over a new deal despite spending more than a decade at the club.

The Austrian star will be out of contract next summer which makes him an inviting free agent prospect for clubs.

But Sky Germany say that will Alaba is unlikely to remain at Bayern, talks with Chelsea are not expected.
