Edouard Mendy

Called into action once in the opening 45 minutes, pushing away a Serge Aurier shot from the edge of the box. Good with his feet and vocal as well.

Didn't have a shot to save in the second half, but on a couple of occasions came out and claimed the ball really well to avert danger. 6

Reece James

A couple of crosses into the box, but unable to really make a bit impact going forward. Good at the back though.

That really changed in the second half and he put in some stunning crosses that Tammy Abraham should have done better with. 7

Can Chelsea challenge for the title?

Thiago Silva

Very solid and calm in the first half, not giving the Spurs forwards much of a chance. A bit slow in possession, though, which meant the tempo wasn't very high.

In the second half he really showed his class and calmness with everything he did, reading the game well to snuff out any chance that Spurs had. 8

Kurt Zouma

Excellent in the opening half, especially in the air where he dominated. Didn't give Son or Kane much chance to really have an effort on goal and positioned well.

Really was superb in the second half with his positioning and was all over Son and Kane, who barely had a sniff. He is looking excellent right now. Can let him off the mistake at the end! 9

Ben Chilwell

A couple of nice bits of play in the opening half, but not really the impact down the left and was controlled well by Serge Aurier.

A lot more adventurous in the second half and exposed the space well. However, didn't have the quality in the last third. 6

Mateo Kovacic

Defensively solid as you would expect by the Croatian during much of the half, but in possession he just wasn't moving the ball quick enough to break Spurs down.

In the second half he was excellent off the ball, winning possession back giving the Spurs middle of the park nothing. Not much of an impact going forward. 7

N'Golo Kante

Spurs found some space early in the half and were winning the midfield battle, but Kante started to get a hold of the game and breaking up play well. A bit too slow in possession at times.

In the second half he really dominated the midfield and gave Spurs nothing to work with at all. Excellent at covering when needed and being strong. 8

Mason Mount

Worked really hard throughout the first half. Gave the ball away once which led to a Spurs attack, but linked up well and had an effort over the bar.

Had a great effort late in the match which Hugo Lloris saved well. Tried to be creative when he could and continued to work hard. 7

Chelsea's Hakim Ziyech dribbles away from Spurs captain Harry Kane

Hakim Ziyech

Had an excellent volley which was straight at Hugo Lloris early on, but after that things didn't really happen for him. Over-hit crosses and poor balls by the Moroccan in the opening 45 minutes.

It just didn't really work for him in the second half. Got into some good positions, but the quality let him down with crosses and shots. 4

Tammy Abraham

No chances in the first half, but his number nine play was excellent. Really battled well and brought others into play. Was physical and clever in his movement.

He had two or three really good chances in the second half that he couldn't get on target. His all-round play was excellent, but his finishing let him down. 6

Timo Werner

An excellent finish, but was ruled offside and after that it was all a bit frustrating in the first half for the German. Offside too much and didn't really link up too well.

Really didn't have much impact in the second 45 minutes either, with a couple of breaks but without the chances to latch on to. Not his best night. 4

Substitutes

Christian Pulisic (on for Werner 73')

Didn't have too much of an impact on the match, with a couple of good runs but little end product. 5

Olivier Giroud (on for Abraham 79')

A massive chance at the death which could have sealed the win. 5

Kai Havertz (on for Ziyech 83')

Didn't influence the game. 5
