Chelsea fans were calling for the introduction of Kai Havertz following a goalless first half against Tottenham Hotspur.

Frank Lampard's Blues are taking on Jose Mourinho's Spurs side in a crunch Premier League showdown at Stamford Bridge.

Both teams have had solid starts to the season, with the winner of this match set to go top of the table.

Lampard made three changes to the side that started the midweek Champions League victory in Rennes.

Reece James came in for Cesar Azpilicueta at right-back, N'Golo Kante got the nod ahead of Jorginho in midfield, and Hakim Ziyech was preferred to Callum Hudson-Odoi in attack.

Christian Pulisic returned to the squad for first time this month following injury, and was named among the substitutes.

Havertz also had to settle for a place on the bench, with Mateo Kovacic keeping his place in the side, alongside Mason Mount and the recalled Kante.

With the two teams locked at 0-0, could the summer signing from Bayer Leverkusen make the difference?

Plenty of Chelsea supporters seemed to think so - and took to social media to air their views.

"Please bring on Havertz and Pulisic," @CFCTommy_ said on Twitter.

@perrinsinho tweeted: "Need Havertz and Pulisic on in the second half. Just missing a spark at the moment. Need an injection of pace and some quality to break down their defence."

Meanwhile, @AsylumNaija posted: "I think we should bring on Havertz to play in RW and move Ziyech into Left Midfield, and then bring on Pulisic in LW later on, this game needs a dribbler too."
