Eden Hazard's Real Madrid career took another negative turn on Saturday as the Belgian was forced off during the 2-1 home defeat to Almeria with yet another injury.

He was replaced by Rodrygo inside the first half hour at the Santiago Bernabeu after picking up a knock. Goals from Lucas Perez and Joselu sealed an impressive win for the visitors, leaving Real six points adrift of top spot.

Hazard has only played 28 times for the Spanish giants since his move from Chelsea in the summer of 2019.

The 30-year-old's time in Madrid has been plagued by injuries and a lack of form, with Hazard looking a shadow of his former self on many occasions.

His latest setback sparked fresh calls for a return to Chelsea by Blues supporters on Twitter, who would like to see the Belgian recapture his world-beating form at his old stomping ground.

@HighPriest001 : His Madrid journey has been a disaster so far, he should just come back home.

@demersh18 : This is too bad and I don’t actually understand his situation. That team won’t help him. It’s time to come back.

@_CFCKev : Hazard should just pack his bags and get on the first plane to London. Come back home Eden.

@obi_olowo : That’s the best for his career that’s already on the line. He can come back to Chelsea even if it’s a loan deal, Chelsea will take care of his wages. I believe he’s still a great player.

@Caleb_Maniac : I think we need to start a campaign to bring Eden Hazard back home. The torture is enough!
