The latest instalment in one of the Premier League's fiercest rivalries happens on Sunday as Chelsea take on Tottenham at Stamford Bridge.

It's made all the more tasty by the fact it's Frank Lampard vs Jose Mourinho - the two getting into an on-pitch clash when Chelsea faced Spurs in the Carabao Cup earlier this season.

It's understood the pair's relationship is not as harmonious as it was when Lampard played under Mourinho at Chelsea as the Portuguese denied him a proper farewell during his second spell in charge of the Blues.

Both sides have made positive starts to the season, too, with Tottenham unbeaten since suffering a defeat on the opening weekend, while Chelsea's only defeat came in their second match of the season.

Spurs are top of the Premier League going into the weekend, while Chelsea are two points behind them so expect it to be a highly charged clash between two top sides.

talkSPORT.com has taken a look at the key battles you need to look out for and where the clash will be won and lost.

Hakim Ziyech vs Sergio Reguilon

He became something of a forgotten signing having nursed an injury at the start of the season, but Ziyech has made up for lost time.

The former Ajax man is a forward but has given Chelsea an extra dimension with his stunning passing vision. He's even earned comparisons to Kevin De Bruyne and former Chelsea duo Eden Hazard and Cesc Fabregas.

So it's very important to cut off the Ziyech supply line and while Tottenham's midfielders will do what they can to close him down, that responsibility will fall primarily on Reguilon's shoulders.

Reguilon has settled in well at Spurs and helped stifle the likes of Manchester City pair Riyad Mahrez and Bernardo Silva so keeping Ziyech quiet is possible.

Mason Mount vs Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg

Both of these players are one of the first names on the team sheets of their respective managers.

Mount is certainly more attack-minded than Hojbjerg but it's the England international's work off the ball which is crucial to Chelsea's success.

That's where Mount and Hojbjerg's games are similar and don't be surprised if both players are tasked with marking each other throughout the clash. Whoever comes out on top in this battle could determine which side has more joy in midfield.

N'Golo Kante vs Tanguy Ndombele

It's likely Mourinho will set Spurs up in a similar way to their win over Man City last weekend, meaning Ndombele would play in a slightly more advanced midfield role.

Ndombele is in terrific form and his brilliant ability on the ball and athleticism will link the Spurs midfield and the forwards well when building attacks.

Kante's primary task is to stop the opposition building attacks and thus his no.1 mission will be to stop Ndombele. Succeed in this endeavour and it could be a very long match for Spurs' forwards.

Thiago Silva and Kurt Zouma vs Harry Kane and Heung-min Son

But the most intriguing battle is surely between Spurs' two main forwards in Kane and Son and the Chelsea centre-backs.

Few have been able to contain the dynamic duo, who have scored 16 of Spurs' 21 league goals between them this season.

Son scored against Man City while Kane was toying with Pep Guardiola's defence at points in the 2-0 win.

This would have been a huge cause for concern for Lampard last season but new signing Silva and Zouma have a very good understanding together and are a much more competent outfit at the back this term.

They'll need help from the likes of Kante especially when Kane drops deeper to collect the ball and supplies it to Son and Steven Bergwijn.
