If Chelsea are going to win the Premier League this season it's going to take a momentous effort.

Liverpool's 4-0 win on Saturday against Southampton on Saturday pushed them back to within one point of the Blues having played a game more, while Manchester City have shown signs of reaching their best form in recent weeks too

This kind of battle will need the Blues to lean on the vast majority of their squad.

And while potential January additions may seem indulgent when Thomas Tuchel already has so many high-class footballers to call upon, it may be decisive in the fight for silverware.

Mirror Sport has the latest Chelsea transfer stories.

What position should the Blues look to strengthen in January? Let us know in the comments below!

Bayern interested in Mount

According to TZ (h/t Bavarian Football Works ), Bayern Munich are keen on signing Mason Mount.

The German giants are said to be ready to test Chelsea's resolve to keep the England international, who has cemented himself as a key player for both club and country in recent years.

In the report it's said that Mount is valued at around €75 million (£63.6 million) by the European champions, with his contract set to expire at Stamford Bridge in 2024.

Mount is a product of the Blues academy and clearly has a strong affinity for the London outfit, so at this point it would be a shock to see him move on any time soon.

Mount has reportedly caught the attention of Bayern Munich.

Nunez linked with 'great English club'

According to Record (h/t Sport Witness ), Benfica have held talks with a "great English club" regarding possible interest in Darwin Nunez.

In the report it's noted that Chelsea are one of the leading suitors for the 22-year-old, who has been turning in some impressive displays in the Portuguese top flight. Manchester City, Newcastle United, Atletico Madrid and Milan are also said to be in the race.

Brighton & Hove Albion reportedly made a €32 million (£27.15 million) bid for Nunez in the summer, although that was rebuffed by Benfica, meaning any potential suitors will likely have to shell out significantly more.

Chiesa drops Chelsea hint

Eagle-eyed Chelsea supporters have noticed that Juventus forward and reported transfer target Federico Chiesa has followed a number of the club's players on Instagram.

The Italy international sparkled in the summer as the Azzurri won the European Championship, offering the team a thrilling edge with his searing speed and dribbling ability.

Chelsea are said to be interested in signing the winger and the interest of supporters was piqued when it was spotted he had decided to track a few Blues stars on social media.

Per the Daily Star , he follows Christian Pulisic, Mateo Kovacic, Saul Niguez, Kai Havertz, and N'Golo Kante, as well as the official Chelsea account.
