  • GOODYBE FROM STAMFORD BRIDGE

Wow what a game, it most certainly didn’t disappoint!

Many feared the most for Manchester United going into this Super Sunday clash and when Chelsea completely dominated the first 45 minutes, it felt like only a matter of time before the deadlock was broken.

But it was the visitors who opened the scoring on the 50th minute thanks to a woeful mistake by Chelsea skipper Jorginho followed up by a coolly dispatched finish from Jadon Sancho.

The Red Devil’s tails were up and the Blues looked susceptible to conceding a second which could have happened had United’s final third play been more clinical.

However, 19 minutes later Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s rash challenge on Thiago Silva, led to a penalty which Jorginho who was out for redemption, took and scored.

Chelsea’s pressure became relentless after their equaliser and you would have put your house on it for the Blues to turn the game on its head.

Until Edouard Mendy almost gifted Manchester United the three points by rolling the ball to Fred who instead of putting his foot through the ball, decided to try and chip the keeper in what was a poor attempt.

And then the final twist in the tail came deep into stoppage time, when an un-marked Antonio Rudiger at the back-post could have won the game but the German international was unable to keep his volley down.

What a great way to finish off the football on a Sunday, roll on the next fixtures in the Premier Legaue.

  • NEXT 5 FIXTURES

After playing consecutive fixtures at the Bridge, Thomas Tuchel will be pleased that his side won’t have to travel too far from home in their next two Premier League outings.

Chelsea open December with a trip to Watford before heading east of the river to take on West Ham United at the London stadium.

They then have back-to-back home matches yet again in the Premier League where they’ll be hosting Leeds United and Everton.

However buried in between those league fixtures the Blues have a plane journey to catch to go and battle against Russian giants Zenit St.Petersburg on match-day six in the Champions League and a win in that match would see them top their group.

  • COMING UP

Manchester United have their final big clash in this tough run of fixtures on Thursday where they take on old bitter rivals Arsenal at Old Trafford.

They then welcome another London club in Crystal Palace to their home patch before travelling to both Norwich City and Brentford in the Premier League.

However, on the 8th of December, whoever is in charge at the time, will be desperate to guide the Red Devil’s to a top spot in the Champions League group stages by defeating Swiss side Young Boys in front of the home fans.

  • COURAGEOUS CARRICK

On the other hand, caretaker manager Michael Carrick left the game with a disappointing feeling.

He was proud of his boys but the former Manchester United midfielder felt as if his side could have escaped Stamford Bridge with all three points had it not been for the penalty.

[I felt] disappointed actually; when you're in front in a game like that this to have it taken away from you like it was is disappointing.

I'm immensely proud of the players and immensely proud of the whole group, the staff and the players all week.

It's been a difficult situation but we are trying to make the best of it, can't hide from that. It's been tough at times but I am proud of the response and the way we have gone about it this week.

But yeah there's that bitter feeling. We came here to win the game, we had a plan, we had a positive mindset and our attitude for that so I am a little bit disappointed here I can't lie.

  • TUCHEL TALKS

Despite Chelsea not leaving Stamford Bridge with all three points, Blues boss Thomas Tuchel will still happy with the result.

As a matter of fact, the German is just content on coaching the team.

I am happy, absolutely happy to coach the team. I saw a huge effort, big intensity with so many ball recoveries in the opponents half.

We controlled the counter-attacks before they started. We were brave and courageous.

If you don't score, you always run a bit behind because you feel that you are the strongest team.

We had two or three big chances that we should have used but in general I am very happy because I like the way we played.

  • AS IT STANDS

So after an entertaining 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea stay top of the pile but their lead has been cut down to only a point following Manchester City’s victory in the snow against West Ham.

As for today’s visitors, the Red Devil’s jump up to 8th and are now within five points of the top four.

  • SPOT ON

And here is the penalty which redeemed Jorginho from his terrible blunder that initially led to Manchester United taking the lead.

  • JOR DROPPING

Italian international Jorginho has scored 15 Premier League goals for Chelsea and 13 of them have been from the penalty spot.

  • FINAL 90 STATS

The home side still dominated, possession, the amount of passes and the amount of shots on goal.

But Manchester United was still able to come away with a well-deserved point in the end.

  • FULL TIME

Everyone feared the worst for Manchester United coming into this game but somehow, they have escaped Stamford Bridge with a point.

  • PEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!

AHHH MAN I DIDN'T WANT THE GAME TO FINISH!

BUT ALL GOOD THINGS HAVE TO COME TO AN END!

    FT: CHELSEA 1-1 MAN UTD

  • CHELSEA 1-1 MAN UTD

90+6. OH NOOOOOOOOOOOO! RUDIGER YOUR NAME COULD HAVE GONE UP IN LIGHTS BUT YOU BLEW IT!

The ball fell to the German international at the back-post and instead of bringing it down, Rudiger decided to volley it first time which went way, way over the bar.

What a finish to the game that would have been.

  • CHELSEA 1-1 MAN UTD

90+4. The Chelsea manager will be slightly relieved that his side dealt with the corner eventually.

But he will still be fuming at the fact that United were given such a golden opportunity in the first place.

  • CHELSEA 1-1 MAN UTD

90+3. Thomas Tuchel has just picked up a yellow card for his burst of anger.

  • CHELSEA 1-1 MAN UTD

90+2. No way, Manchester United have received a corner despite Ronaldo being miles offside in the build-up.

That is a terrible decision and Thomas Tuchel is going absolutely crazy on the touchline.

  • FIVE MINUTES OF ADDTIONAL TIME

  • CHELSEA 1-1 MAN UTD

    90. And on that note, congratulations to Scott McTominay because Jamie Carragher has just awarded the Scotsman with the Man Of The Match award.

  • CHELSEA 1-1 MAN UTD

    89. OOOPHHH right in the kisser.

Hakim Ziyech went for a long range effort to try and catch David De Gea off guard but the ball struck Scott McTominay directly in the face.

He's going to feel that one in the morning.

  • CHELSEA 1-1 MAN UTD

    87. FRED FRED FRED! YOU'VE MESSED IT UP!

Edouard Mendy literally passed it to the Brazilian teeing him up for a big chance but instead of finishing his dinner, Fred scooped the ball back into the hands of the Chelsea keeper.

Something tells me the outcome would have been different if the ball fell to Ronaldo.

  • GARY VS GARY

Talking about battles, we have an off the field battle happening on Twitter between two legendary pundits Gary Lineker and Gary Neville.

  • CHELSEA 1-1 MAN UTD

    83. In actual fact, it was Ruben Loftus-Cheek who climbed the highest.

But the English midfielder just couldn't keep his header down otherwise it was a certain goal.

  • CHELSEA 1-1 MAN UTD

    83. Corner to Chelsea.

Romelu Lukaku has a chance of making an instant impact here.

  • CHELSEA 1-1 MAN UTD

    81. We haven't seen much of Cristiano Ronaldo since his introduction but we might see something special from this next substitution.

    • Timo Werner - OFF
    • Romelu Lukaku - ON
  • LET THE BATTLE COMMENCE

Both sides are giving it their all to try and clinch the three points.
