Chelsea fans have pleaded with manager Thomas Tuchel to start attacking duo Kai Havertz and Callum Hudson-Odoi against Norwich after a double injury blow in the Champions League clash against Malmo.

The Blues ran out 4-0 winners on a night where goals and chances were there in abundance but not for Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner who were withdrawn in the first half due to injury blows.

Lukaku's looked like being an ankle twist whilst Werner's was clearly a hamstring problem.

BT Sport pundit Joe Cole had his say on the severity of the blows suffered to the aforementioned pair, who could now both spend time on the sidelines nursing respective injuries.

"It was a real shame because he was warming into the game," Cole said.

"It wasn’t a bad tackle in a sense, it was a coming together but Lukaku’s too strong. It’s a nasty one and I don’t think we’ll be seeing him for a few weeks. It isn’t nice to see. When the ankle goes in that position it’s not nice. He’ll be bitterly disappointed, it’s not nice to see."

He then added on Werner: "A muscle that early in the game tells me he is overtraining a tad. Chelsea haven’t been sharp but they look razor-sharp tonight and Timo Werner looked sharp - he should’ve stuck it away when it came across his body, opening his body up. That’s two forwards Chelsea have lost so not a perfect night."

In their absence, Havertz and Hudson-Odoi stepped up with the goods with the former adding a third on the night for the European Champions who eased their qualification worries from Group H after the 1-0 loss to Juventus in Turin on game week two.

In the build-up to this game, Tuchel opened up on Werner's international compatriot's woes in front of goal, which he thankfully ended on Wednesday night.

"He's an important player for our squad," Tuchel said on Havertz.

"He had many games to start with, he started strong, he was very strong in pre-season. The story has not changed, but he lacks the statistics of decisive things, of goals and assists.

"He needs to fight his way back into the team, and he gets minutes and this can happen any time. We trust in him, and we believe in him, and the rest has to come from him, and he's willing to do so.

"He's in a good shape, he's in a good mental state, he knows what he's fighting for and that's the situation right now."

Here is the best of the reaction on social media from the west London faithful who have all made one specific demand to the manager ahead of the weekend.
