Chelsea fans have been reacting to the changes that Thomas Tuchel has made for the home game against Swedish Champions Malmo in the Champions League.

It was clear that the line-up against Brentford was only makeshift due to multiple absentees and that has been shown in Tuchel's selection for an important group-stage game tonight under the lights of a rocking Stamford Bridge.

Now, with the key duo of Antonio Rudiger and Jorginho back for selection, it is no surprise to see them included in this game tonight with many more matches in respective competitions just around the corner.

The importance of this match cannot be underestimated, especially considering the Blues' slip up in gameweek two of this year's competition in Turin where Federico Chiesa's goal gave Juventus the three points.

Furthermore, it isn't a surprise to see such a strong European Champions set-up deployed for the challenge of the Swedes.

Here is the best of the reaction on social media to the line-up from supporters of the west London faithful.

@cfcoz_ tweeted: 'Great to see Jorginho and Rudiger back tonight. Hopefully we can control the game and get some fringe players on to finish the game.'

@achrafNR06 has demanded: 'He's taking it seriously we need 3-0 at HT before making those 5 changes.'

However, a number of Chelsea fans were questioning whether it was time to give striker Romelu Lukaku a rest - particularly given Tuchel's pre-match comments on the Belgian.

"In the very moment I feel Romelu a bit overplayed," Tuchel said in his pre-Malmo press conference.

"I think he played too many competitions over the summer, too many competitions with the national team and now he has played the Nations League.

"He is a fantastic athlete and such a competitive guy that he digs in deep, he wants to win these things and he never takes it easy and judges games.

"He wants to be out there and win so I know how much he wanted to have a good outcome for Belgium in the Euros, and the Nations League meant a lot to him too.

"It was a huge match for him personally, it means a lot to him to play for his country. So he takes it really seriously and if it doesn't go well he always takes it on his shoulders.

"I feel him a bit mentally tired. Not hugely that we have concern but for me he does not fully enjoy without having second or third thoughts, for me he overplayed and this is the key point."

@_ronty_ tweeted: ''Overplayed' Lukaku [followed by the eyes emoji].

@Oladejiolumide5 similarly put: 'I thought Tuchel will drop lukaku on the bench tonight after he's said his overplayed.'

@SeasonKeepers made an interesting observation: 'Let’s see how many minutes Lukaku gets this evening.'

@Sam1905___ has made a specific demand aimed at the club-record signing: 'Lukaku better bag tonight.'
