Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel admits Christian Pulisic is carrying an ankle injury.

At today's Champions League presser, Tuchel shed some light on Pulisic's latest injury.

"He got injured playing for USA and it was a tough foul and he hurt his ankle," said the manager.

"There's nothing to worry in terms of we are hiding details, I can not give you all of the details because I am not a doctor but in the moment he's had some setbacks because of some pain in the ankle that disturbs him.

"With quick players like Christian, once they make quick movements they feel this pain and are not free in the movement.

"So, the recovery is not happening and you start all over again and then you reach a certain point and the pain comes back.

"We are very close, he was close to team training but he has a setback nothing serious just pain.

"He wants to be on the pitch and help us."
