Chelsea academy graduates Marc Guehi and Conor Gallagher impressed for Crystal Palace in their 2-2 draw against Arsenal on Monday night.

Blues supporters were shocked when news broke over the summer that Crystal Palace were close to finalising a deal for defender Guehi.

The eventual £20m move on a five-year deal included a chance to match any future offers for the England U-21 defender.

His swift exit was the beginning of a flurry of youth exits from Cobham as Chelsea's next-generation looked elsewhere for regular minutes.

Guehi has instantly become a first-team player in Patrick Vieira's new look Palace defence, starting all eight of the south London side's Premier League fixtures and playing in the Carabao Cup defeat away to Watford in August.

He was joined by a familiar face in Gallagher towards the end of the summer as the young Englishman joined Palace on a season-long loan.

He’s started the season in fine form, picking up back-to-back Player of the Month awards for Palace under Vieira’s stewardship.

And he continued to impress on Monday too, as his relentless performance helped earn his new club a point against the Gunners.

The Eagles were close to securing all three points too, but Alexandre Lacazette’s injury-time equaliser prevented a victory right at the end of the game.

Gallagher was awarded the Man of the Match award by Sky Sports after the game, primarily as his energy in the middle of the park helped initiate countless counter-attacks.

He played an important role in Palace’s second goal too, as he dispossessed Albert Sambi Lokonga in his own half before the visitors broke quickly, with Odsonne Edouard eventually hammering in a shot via the underside of the bar.

And whilst the players celebrated that goal, Guehi went straight up to praise Gallagher for his efforts.

Take a look at how proud that made some of the Chelsea faithful.

A point means that the Gunners move up to 12th with a sixth game unbeaten, while Palace remain 14th after a third draw in a row.

Arsenal will now prepare to face Aston Villa on Friday night.
