Thomas Tuchel received a big boost ahead of this week's Champions League tie against Malmo as two defenders returned to his squad for training on Monday.

Our European campaign continues on Wednesday when we host the Swedish side at Stamford Bridge, and our head coach looks set to be able to call upon two members of his team for that match who missed Saturday's 1-0 win over Brentford in the Premier League.

The absence of Thiago Silva and Antonio Rudiger left us short of defensive options for our last game and, although Trevoh Chalobah, Andreas Christensen and Malang Sarr, the last of those on his Premier League debut, all performed admirably against the Bees, Tuchel will be pleased to have two such important players available for selection again.

Thiago Silva missed out over the weekend due to his late return from international duty with Brazil, leaving him without time to recover and prepare for the rigours of a Premier League match, while Rudiger was forced to sit out after picking up an injury while representing Germany during the international break.

However, both players looked pleased to be back among their team-mates on the training pitch at Cobham as we prepare to take on Malmo in the Champions League. You can see the pick of the images from today's session below...
