Chelsea get their Carabao Cup campaign underway as they welcome Aston Villa to west London on Wednesday night.

The Blues have enjoyed a wonderful start to the season which has seen them win five of their opening six matches in all competitions.

Sunday's 3-0 win over Tottenham was a real highlight and now their attention will turn to Villa in the cup.

Dean Smith's side also enjoyed an excellent weekend after beating Everton 3-0 at home.

Villa will be desperate to mount a genuine cup run this season, but if they're to do that then they'll need to first overcome Thomas Tuchel and co.

Tuchel looks set to shuffle the pack for the visit of Aston Villa.

Edouard Mendy looks set to miss out for Chelsea while several other first team players could be rested as the German boss looks to rotate his squad.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Ben Chilwell and Timo Werner are among the players who could start at Stamford Bridge.

For Dean Smith's side, there could also be some changes.

Smith may rotate his squad and hand an opportunity to Emi Buendia who will be hoping to make a big impression from the start.

Meanwhile Trezeguet and Keinan Davis will miss out as long-term absentees.
