Chelsea make mind up on Zouma

West Ham’s central defensive target Kurt Zouma is on the brink of signing a new deal with Chelsea.

The Hammers have been in talks with the club and player’s agents but Stamford Bridge manager Thomas Tuchel has never been keen to let the player leave.

And ClaretandHugh’s latest information  – delivered by a representative close to the deal – is that the player now looks all set to agree a new two or three year deal with the south west London club.

The Hammers and Blues were about £3 million apart on the required fee and the Irons offered the player wages comparable to those he is on at the Bridge.

But Tuchel – who  has been unable to stitch together a part exchange deal Sevilla’s Jules Kounde for Zouma is seemingly happy to keep Zouma who has two years left on his current contract.

Short of any new late developments it appears the Hammers have lost out on the 26 year old Frenchman.

  1. 🤣🤣🤣this is comedy gold ..truthfully..this really has made me tickle…all the weeks and weeks of time and talking ,,now he is staying….🤣🤣🤣🤣…

  2. But as a club Hugh we are an utter joke under Sullivan’s tenure, no further forward than we were 10 years ago; heck we don’t even have a recognized senior striker. We are heading in to our most important season for years with a forward who only plays 50% of our games, one CDM away from a crisis, a decent CB light and lacking a creative midfield spark a la Lingard or Pereira; it is an utter disgrace and sooner they ate gone the better.

  3. Any truth in Milenkovic , he looks the real deal , also seen were linked yet again with Celta car . What are we doing scatter gun . We really need to get a move on with transfers !

  4. Milenkovic is the signing we have to make if we are serious about challenging at the top. I was very disappointed in Car at the Euro’s, not been impressed anytime I have watched him. Is he a statement signing no, Milenkovic on the other hand is.

  5. Kurt zouma deserve a stay at the bridge , perhaps looking at his performance last season amid his chart. No ,a say no premier league defender out score him , in addition he deliver his goals when they are needed most

  6. Milenkovic looks a much better deal than Zouma. The few times I’ve seen Zouma play the commentators always talk him up. He isn’t THAT good. I suppose we’ll be linked to Tarkovski again soon. Another to forget.

    • Dont think Zouma was worth what Chelea wanted neither if true his wage demands. Think what im saying is didnt really fancy him from the off. Give me Milenkovic any day of the week and over Car. Agree with above comment re car wasnt that impressed in Euros. Seemed to get caught a lot.

    • Agree. Zouma makes mistakes and while only 27, would need to mature quickly.
      Next.

  7. Be fair doesnt say a lot about chelsea either. Told him he could go-wanted to part exchange him now talking about giving him a new contract !!!!!!!!!!Very decisive.

    • This is how well financed clubs retain transfer values for their squad players.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see him (Zouma), shipped out on loan either this month, or January. Get him into the ‘ shop window’.

    • The only joke here is Chelsea!

  8. Ings has just signed for villa….they done it as simple as anything..he woukd of been perfect for us …imo …proven in prem ,, decent player with goals…..unbelievably easy ..25 mil job done……why is it so easy for them and other clubs …ings won’t be everyone’s cuppa …..but it was done so easy ..
    Can’t understand…..well done villa …

    • Just the profile of player we are looking for, Danny Ings. 22 years old with 10 years of Premier League and European experience behind him and bombproof. Can’t believe how lucky Aston Villa have been. We’ll get someone similar though. Don’t lose the faith just yet. COYI
Patrick Bamford and Allan Saint-Maximin are on their way.

    • Yes i see that and I’m. Left asking what have we got to take the pressure off of Antonio. I think the obvious answer is nothing at all. I really feel sorry for him having to play the European matches as well as the league

  9. If they can replace even half of Grealish’s threat, Villa will be a real handful this season

    • They can’t. Grealish is quality that is rare (and irritating). If smart they will build slowly.
As an aside, how much play time do you think will Grealish get for ManC?

      • If he’s as good as you say he is Gary i imagine he won’t need much time. Villa seem to be spending the money from his sale wisely; Bailey, Buendia, Ings and i doubt they’re finished yet. If you’re right that they can’t replace him, they’re certainly buying quality to help try.

  10. The Old West Ham Stalking Horse strikes again…
For me, our lack of transfer activity has actually gone beyond the point of being smart or having a cunning plan.
Something about our lack of transfer activity before our biggest season for years doesn’t seem quite right to me at this point, and I’m wondering whether it has something to do with saving money before the forthcoming sale of this club?
