Chelsea right-back Reece James has returned to training at the Blues’ Cobham complex sporting a new tattoo, much to the delight of the club’s fanbase.

The new artwork, which is positioned on the back of his right leg, shows an image of the Champions League trophy he and his teammates lifted in Porto in May.

Underneath the trophy, you can see the date the game took place in figures (29.05.21).

Thomas Tuchel’s side were victorious over Premier League champions Manchester City in May, beating them 1-0 in what was a resolute defensive display.

James played his part, too, and has previously admitted that winning the honour is the greatest achievement of his career so far.

Speaking to talkSPORT in May, the 21-year-old said: "It’s the greatest moment of my career so far.

"Those seven minutes added on were the longest seven minutes of my life. We had to dig in together and fight the last stages of the game out."

And, as seen by the tattoo, it’s clearly an event he never wants to forget, something that has gone down very well with the Chelsea fans.

Take a look at how it’s been received on Twitter.

@cfc_Fabian said: “He better be ready because by the end of his career there won’t be any space left on his body.”

@RahJos20 said: “Reece a bit large tattoo, don’t you think? Considering it is just the start for us and the special journey we are on… A lot more to come..”

@DogecoinStudies said: “His right leg is bigger than Arsenal.”

@Zippora_Tes said: "You’ll need 4 legs by the time you are 25. Because we going to be winning trophies back to back.”

@tomcliffordcfc said: “What a guy. Love him to bits.”

James still has an incredibly long career ahead of him, so this tattoo might well be the first of many.
