Chelsea’s buy-back clause for Tino Livramento actually quite high as another departure confirmed

Another confirmed Chelsea departure got over the line last night as another highly rated youngster leaves the club.

Tino Livramento was confirmed as a new Southampton player after agreeing a 5-year deal to join the club from Chelsea, where he has been since a very young boy.

He joins a host of young Chelsea players heading for the Stamford Bridge exit door in search of more stability and a clearer path into first team football.

Chelsea know how talented a player Livramento is, and they tried to get him to sign a new deal as a result, but he rejected a new offer and left the club.

Chelsea have done the next best thing though and put a buy-back clause in the sale, meaning they can sign him back should they wish to in the near future.

However, that fee isn’t looking like it will be cheap, and is likely to be close to £40m, according to Tom Barclay from The Sun.
