Tammy Abraham scoring a late winner at the Emirates? It’s happened before and it happened again yesterday as the Blues beat Arsenal in our latest pre-season excursion.

Rewind to our final fixture of 2019 and it was Abraham who spun and finished past Bernd Leno in front of the Clock End. History repeated itself on Sunday afternoon when the striker capitalised on a wayward Hector Bellerin pass before calmly slotting past Arsenal’s German keeper.

‘We’ve been working on the press all pre-season and it paid off for the second goal,’ analysed Abraham.

‘I love coming here, even though it’s a friendly I always love scoring goals, and luckily for me it was the winning goal again.’

Abraham played the second 45 minutes in north London having been on the pitch for an hour at Bournemouth five days earlier. He admitted getting up to speed is taking its toll, but as one of the first players back for pre-season he is approaching the levels required for the start of our competitive campaign next week.

‘I’m absolutely tired! Shattered. The boys have been working hard in training. It’s for the best because we are all ready for the season.

‘We will take our time, we still have a couple more sessions to come, and we still have players coming back, so we’re bonding and I am sure we will get there.

‘Before we know it we’re back, we have to keep working hard and I’m sure we will be ready for the season.’
