Jules Kounde, Kurt Zouma And West Ham

Hello and welcome to football.london 's live Chelsea coverage on Sunday.

The transfer window is yet to really get going in Thomas Tuchel 's first summer at Stamford Bridge. The Blues have so far only welcomed one new signing to Stamford Bridge and that is former Fulham goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli. The stopper has penned a two-year-deal with Chelsea.

Despite the lack of incomings, that has not stopped the gossip columns from going into overdrive. The Blues remain strongly linked to Borussia Dortmund sensation Erling Haaland so we will be trying to bring you the latest on any potential deal for the Norwegian. Elsewhere, the Blues appear to be edging close to an agreement for Sevilla centre-back Jules Kounde.

Going in the other direction, there has already been plenty of business. Fikayo Tomori and Marc Guehi have departed for big fees, whilst Olivier Giroud was also allowed to leave.

Make sure you keep the blog locked for the latest on any more transfers throughout the day.

Blues fans begin to worry about life without Mendy

Kepa Arrizabalaga divided opinion following his second half cameo in Chelsea's 2-1 win over Arsenal, as fans realised the Spaniard will become Chelsea's first-choice goalkeeper ahead of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.

The 26-year-old continued his pre-season preparations coming on for Edouard Mendy with half hour to play, but conceded inside ten minutes of coming on.

Blues fans took to Twitter as they expressed their scepticism following the realisation that the west London side will be without star man Mendy come January.

@CFCbender said: "One thing for certain is Kepa is not good enough to be our 2nd choice GK. With Mendy going away to AFCON in January we need to sign a good backup."

Chelsea fans raving about academy star's performance

Chelsea fans fled in their thousands taking to social media to rave and revel about Dujon Sterling's spellbinding performance which could save the Blues £68 million in transfer fees this summer.

football.london understands that Thomas Tuchel has been incredibly impressed with Sterling upon his return to Cobham Training Ground this summer.

Should the England Under-20 international break into the first-team, Roman Abramovich has been tabled with a firm alternative to Jules Kounde.

One user on Twitter, @CFCAsh_, revealed how impressed they had been with Sterling's pre-season performances: "Dujon Sterling impressed me a lot this pre season. Such a good player."

Loftus-Cheek on the move

Ruben Loftus-Cheek's future at Chelsea remains uncertain, with the midfielder again being linked with an exit from Stamford Bridge.

He is a target for numerous clubs across the Premier League and Bundesliga, according to The Sun, one of whom is Southampton.

Former manager Frank Lampard, who played Loftus-Cheek nine times across the 2019/20 season when he was recovering from a serious injury, is known to be a big fan of the English midfielder and labelled him an 'obvious talent' who needs 'regular games'.

Inter's transfer decision that could affect Lukaku hopes

According to the Athletic, the Serie A giants are willing to sell Lautaro Martinez this summer.

If they do sell the Argentine, they're unlikely to sell another striker meaning Lukaku will probably stay.

Double transfer blow!

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano believes that it'll be extremely difficult to sign Erling Haaland this summer with Borussia Dortmund so determined not to sell. Meanwhile, there's ‘no chance’ of any potential deal for Robert Lewandowski

“For this summer, there is no chance to sign Robert Lewandowski for Chelsea. Inter define Romelu Lukaku as non-transferable and untouchable, another very complicated affair.

“That’s why the dream remains Erling Haaland, but from Borussia Dortmund the club’s version is clear: there is no offer on the table, not even an official approach. It will take madness to sell Haaland, not even €150million would be accepted,“ he wrote in his Benchwarmers column.
