Chelsea are looking to offload forward Tammy Abraham as they look to make way for other forwards, with Arsenal showing interest in the Englishman.
The 23-year-old has mostly been out of favour under manager Thomas Tuchel, sporadically featuring in the second half of last season having fallen behind Kai Havertz and Timo Werner in the pecking order and that has opened the door for him to leave.
Arsenal and Mikel Arteta have shown interest in the player, but there are obstacles in their bid to sign him and they may have to sell some to make up the funds for Abraham.
Additionally, others such as Inter and Tottenham may take an interest in Abraham too, especially if Chelsea want Romelu Lukaku or Harry Kane from either club.
It was reported by Sky in Germany that the Blues made a bid for Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland, which was rejected, so Chelsea may opt for offering Abraham in order to get the Norwegian star.
Abraham supported Arsenal as a child, taking a liking for Thierry Henry, and he feels it’s time for him to leave Stamford Bridge if he wants to win a place in the England squad ahead of the 2022 World Cup next winter.
“To be honest I was an Arsenal fan. It didn’t make any difference at Chelsea,” he said when he was on loan at Bristol City in 2016.
“When you’re young and you choose who to support, if it’s a family thing, it’s a family thing.
“Luckily for me it was a family thing, so it wasn’t really a problem at Chelsea.
“Someone I looked up to was Thierry Henry.
“His variations of finishing, his movement, the way he dribbles…someone like that has a key impact on me.

Chelsea have reportedly set a £40m price tag for Abraham, which may put off several clubs, but Arsenal feel they can get a deal done if they sell Alexandre Lacazette, whose contract is due to expire next summer.
The Blues do, however, need to make space for a forward, with Olivier Giroud expected to leave soon to join Milan in Italy.
