The feast of 51 matches in the space of a month has quickly given way to the famine of precisely zero competitive Chelsea games until Saturday 14 August, when we face Crystal Palace on the opening weekend of the Premier League season.

If that feels like a lifetime away – and, let’s be honest, it really does – there’s no need to panic. There is plenty going on in the meantime and we’re here to tell you exactly why it’s not all doom and gloom…
