The Chelsea centre back situation is set to get very interesting over the next few weeks.
All the talk has been surrounding the potential departure of Kurt Zouma from Chelsea this summer, but today it was reported by The Athletic that is is another centre back that is close to leaving on a permanent deal.
Youngster Marc Guehi is set for a medical at Crystal Palace today ahead of a permanent move.
Now Guehi is one of the guys I’d imagine would have replaced Zouma if he leaves, so what happens if they both now end up leaving?
Well, a name we have been linked strongly with is Jules Kounde from Sevilla, and Chelsea have been mentioned as a suitor once again.
As reported by Teamtalk today, Kounde turned down a move to Tottenham this week because he prefers to wait if any of the top clubs come in for him.
They go on to say that Chelsea are one of those top clubs ‘willing to bet’ on the rising star this summer.
