Crystal Palace are on the verge of signing Chelsea youngster Marc Guehi.

The highly-rated centre-half has spent the last season-and-a-half on loan with Swansea City, having made his senior debut for the Blues in September 2019 in an EFL Cup clash against Grimsby Town.

While highly thought of at Stamford Bridge, Palace have made an offer too good to refuse, according to The Athletic.

The fee could reach as high as £20m and part of the deal will include a sell-on clause and matching rights on a future move for the 21-year-old.

Guehi is expected to sign a five-year deal at Selhurst Park and will undergo a medical today.

The report adds there has been ‘significant interest’ in the Chelsea youngster from other Premier League sides and the Bundesliga – much of that in another loan move.

Palace however are prepared to invest big in the defender this summer.

Following Patrick Vieira’s arrival at the club, Palace have made two signings with Michael Olise arriving from Reading and goalkeeper Remi Matthews joining following Wayne Hennessey’s exit.

Palace are also hoping to sign another Chelsea youngster in Conor Gallagher on a season-long loan.

The Eagles were in the running to sign the 21-year-old last season but Gallagher instead spent the season with West Brom.
