Hello and welcome along to football.london's Chelsea news and transfer news live blog.

It has already been a busy summer of transfer activity at Stamford Bridge with as many as four deals announced, but all have been outgoings so far.

The German will want to put his own stamp on the squad he inherited from Frank Lampard and add one or two fresh faces, especially up front, with a prolific striker high on the list of priorities.

Stick with us throughout the day on this live blog for all the very latest Chelsea transfer news and developments as they happen.

Haaland alternative

If Chelsea can't sign Erling Haaland this summer, it might be worth Thomas Tuchel places his full trust in Kai Havertz to lead the attack.

After all, last summer's £72m signing showed last season he is capable of thriving in the 'false 9' role.

If Tuchel goes down this route, it means the Blues already have the perfect Haaland alternative in their ranks.

Marina Granovskaia and Chelsea's summer transfer window plans

Thomas Tuchel is expected to bolster his Chelsea squad in some areas - not all - this summer.

He could look to strengthen is at left back with doubts surrounding the futures of Marcos Alonso and Emerson.

The German also has an array of midfielders, with the likes of Ross Barkley, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and also Danny Drinkwater returning from loan spells away. That is an area that needs to be addressed in terms of departures more than incoming.

Colwill deal

Promising youngster Levi Colwill has agreed a four-year deal at Chelsea with the expectation that he will be loaned out next season in order to gain first-team experience.

Colwill, who joined the Blues as an Under-9, established himself as a standout performer for the development squad last season. He played 18 times in Premier League 2 and also featured twice for the Under-18s in the FA Youth Cup.

The 18-year-old's performances caught the eye of Thomas Tuchel and Colwill trained with the first-team squad in February and during the final weeks of the campaign as cover for the injured Andreas Christensen.

Tuchel warned

Graeme Souness believes Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel should refrain from sending midfielder Billy Gilmour out on loan ahead of the 2021/22 Premier League season.

Personally, I would keep him at Chelsea. I think Jorginho has to be looking over his shoulder, personally.

I know it is a slightly different position but I think he will be challenging him more than anyone else .
