Chelsea have received a major boost in their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund forward Erling Haaland.

Thomas Tuchel has his eye on the 20-year-old scoring sensation as he looks to add a world-class striker to the line-up in the 2021/22 season.

The Blues have been putting pieces in place to fund a mega-money move - and reports state the German side are now reducing the Norwegian’s price.

While they are closer to landing Haaland, Chelsea have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Inter Milan’s Achraf Hakimi.

PSG, the team they matched to put in a £56.1m offer, have reportedly taken over in negotiations - and have a key advantage

These two stories, along with a decision on Billy Gilmour, form the focus of Daily Star Sport’s Chelsea transfer round-up…

Blues receive Haaland boost

With 41 goals in 41 games this season, Haaland has only continued to raise his value - which is good news for Dortmund as they look to raise funds this summer.

It has seen Chelsea push hard to sign the 20-year-old but they are also facing stiff competition from Real Madrid.

Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, though, have reported that the Bundesliga side are willing to drop the forward’s price to £149m.

While it is far off the £65m of his release clause - which can be activated next summer, Marina Granovskaia is acting now to raise funds to test how much further Dortmund will lower Haaland’s fee.

Hakimi blow dealt by PSG

The Stamford Bridge side had been chasing Inter’s right-back for the last few weeks after matching the Ligue 1 team’s offer for his services.

But reports in Italy have suggested that the Serie A winners, looking to raise funds following Covid-19, have accepted an offer from Tuchel’s former side.

They are set to pay £60m with add-ons - and the deal is already ‘nearing completing’ due to the Moroccan’s preference for a Paris move.

Gilmour wanted for loan

The Scot may have endured a tough week but his breakout season impressed pundits enough to warrant calls for a starting XI position with the Blues.

But the 20-year-old was looking for an exit to get more game time - and several Premier League sides have come forward offering starts.

The Mail report that promoted side Norwich have been in touch while the Sun say Wolves have also entered the race.

While the Sunderland Echo suggest that Newcastle are the third team wanting Gilmour’s temporary signature.
