According to The Athletic, Guehi is a transfer target for Crystal Palace and Southampton as well as Borussia Monchengladbach.

Newcastle and West Ham have also been monitoring his situation.

And a move this summer could still happen even with the new deal penned.

After making two League Cup appearances in 2019, Guehi has impressed on loan at Swansea for the last 18 months and racked up 47 appearances.

And he will be hoping to secure three more matches this term with the Welsh side qualifying for the Championship play-offs.

But after that the centre-back's future remains unclear.

Chelsea activated the extension clause in his contract which expired on May 15.

Boss Thomas Tuchel will have the chance to take a look at the U17 World Cup winner during pre-season.

But it is unlikely Guehi will be part of first-team plans for the 2021-22 campaign.

Therefore another loan deal away from the Blues could be on the cards especially with Gladbach expected to lose centre-back Matthias Ginter.

However, the Stamford Bridge club may decide to cash in and sell the academy graduate.

He is valued at around £15-20million and Chelsea would likely insert a buy-back clause into any sale - just as they did when Nathan Ake left for Bournemouth.
