Chelsea Youth One to Watch – Tino Livramento
When Thomas Tuchel announced another Chelsea squad to face Manchester City on Saturday afternoon, there was an unfamiliar name on the bench, but at the same time, one I was not surprised to see.
Those that follow the youth team would have been proud to see 18-year old Tino Livramento get the call up after training with the senior squad often this season.

The reason it did not surprise me to see Tino on the bench, was the fact he is actually one of Chelsea’s few pure out and out wing backs in the whole squad, behind Marcos Alonso, so it is a position he is more than used to and more than comfortable with.
Livramento has come up through the youth ranks at Chelsea since he was just 8-years old, and he has been one of a handful of major consistent standout performers in the youth sides over the last couple of seasons.
Thomas Tuchel has been keeping a close eye on youth games and as I said, has also had a few of them including Livramento join the senior training on a number of occasions, so he must clearly trust the wing back enough to select him in the squad.
He can operate anywhere up and down the right flank, and also on both wings, and it his direct style of play, skill, and pace that makes him standout.
Livramento has a good physical strength and plays with a mature footballing brain already. His athleticism means he could easily mix it in men’s football right now.
The youngster will be constantly knocking hard on Tuchel’s door and is another definition of being ‘one to watch.’
