Some good news coming through this Monday morning regarding a new contract for a highly rated Chelsea defender.
The report, coming from the reliable outlet The Athletic, claims that Chelsea have used an option to trigger the extension in the contract clause.

The defender in question is Marc Guehi, who is currently enjoying a successful loan spell at Swansea City.
His contract has been extended for another 12 months, which ties him to the club for the next two years and is a deal that was already in the contract as an option to extend.
Chelsea will then hold further discussions with the Guehi camp this summer to decide whether they will be sending him out on another loan deal, or cashing in on him. The report claims there is very little chance that Guehi will become part of Chelsea’s first team squad next season.
His market value is around £15m-£20m, per the report.
