Tuchel urges Werner to keep his foot to the floor
Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel has told Timo Werner that he "needs to keep scoring" after he finally brought an end to his 11-game run without a goal against West Ham United last night.
Werner netted the only goal of the game at the London Stadium, connecting with Ben Chilwell's low centre just before half time, to seal a priceless three points in the Blues' quest to achieve a top-four finish.
Although he missed a golden opportunity to claim his second of the night and make the Blues' task for the evening that little bit more comfortable, Tuchel has called upon his fellow countryman to keep going as the end-of-season run-in intensifies.
“He needs to keep scoring and catch the moment," Tuchel said during his post-match press conference. "He is quite often involved in our goals, even in the last weeks, by winning fouls in the penalty area or with assists like against Man City.
"But nothing helps more than a decisive goal.
"I am very happy because I felt he was strong from the start. He was very good with distributing the ball, dropping from the number nine position and keeping the ball, he had good timing with his deep runs behind the line, and was involved in many chances and half-chances.
"So it was very nice that he could score. He could’ve had a second one for sure. After that, he lost a little bit of confidence and was a bit tired. So a good performance and I’m happy because it was a big win."
Klopp sends message to Blues fans
After Arsenal fans followed Chelsea supporters in staging a protest against the controversial European Super League plan, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has called for football supporters to "calm down."
After it was confirmed last Sunday evening that Chelsea were one of six English clubs to join the breakaway league, Blues supporters protested outside Stamford Bridge prior to Tuesday evening's goalless draw with Brighton & Hove Albion.
The fans' decision to do just that paid off, as within hours of it concluding the Blues officially began proceedings to reverse their decision.
On Friday evening, Arsenal supporters then staged a massive protest against their owner - Stan Kroenke.
However, whilst Klopp appreciates emotions are running high, he believes fans need to take a step back.
Klopp said: "Yes, our owners made a mistake. We've said it often enough, they know it and all these kind of things.
"What I didn't like in that moment was - and the Leeds supporters were a good example, they went on us [booing the Liverpool team bus]. We had nothing to do with that, we are just the face of the club. Our supporters had nothing to do with that.
'We didn't even have the idea, we had nothing to do about it and that's what for me is really important that we don't forget that.
"I see the pictures [in] the last few days of Arsenal and Chelsea, stuff like this... I really think you all have to calm down."

The win over the Hammers last night meant that Tuchel became the first Blues manager in history to have gone his first ten away games in charge of the club unbeaten.

Since succeeding Frank Lampard towards the end of January, the German has enjoyed an outstanding start to life in charge, losing just two out of 21 matches in charge.
The first of those two defeats came in a Premier League meeting with West Bromwich Albion, losing 5-2, before being beaten 1-0 by FC Porto in the second-leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final earlier this month.
Although the game against Porto was played in Spain and could be considered as an away game, it was technically Chelsea's home-leg, meaning he is yet to lose an away game in charge of the club.
