Chelsea interested in Andersen

The Blues are reportedly interested in Fulham loanee Joachim Andersen.

According to Danish publication, B.T., Chelsea are joined by Manchester United and Tottenham as clubs who are looking to sign the centre-back after an impressive campaign with Fulham so far.

The 24-year-old joined the west London side on a season-long loan from Lyon and has played a major role in Scott Parker’s set-up.

The report states that the Dane has notified his parent club of his desire to stay in the Premier League after this season. Whether that will be with Fulham or another club like Chelsea, remains to be seen.

Lyon will be looking to profit from Andersen’s reported decision to raise funds during the pandemic. The French side values the centre-back at £25 million.

Andersen has made 26 Premier League appearances so far this season and provided one goal and one assist.

Gullit impressed by Tuchel’s style

Former Blues player and manager Ruud Gullit has revealed how impressed he has been with Chelsea’s performances since the arrival of Thomas Tuchel.

On BeIN Sports, the Dutch legend spoke about how the German’s style of play has improved the side after we knocked out Porto in the Champions League.

‘I’m impressed by the team spirit,’ Gullit said. ‘They play more offensive, they play 3-4-3. They play total pressing, and they play the ball faster to each other.

‘There’s not so much dribbling anymore in the middle of the park, they dribble around the 18-yard box of the opposition which is good.’

The Blues now find themselves in two semi-finals with the Champions League and the FA Cup up for grabs.

‘It is a lot more fluid,’ he continued about the style of play. ‘It’s higher intensity from all the players and that is a good thing.

‘The players are happy with how things are going, and you can see it on the pitch because the results are there.’

Robinson tips Blues to make top four

Paul Robinson believes Chelsea will qualify for the Champions League ahead of West Ham United and Liverpool.

Speaking to the Racing Post, the former England number one said the Blues under Tuchel have been very impressive and have a chance of ending the season on a high.

‘I wouldn’t have been worrying about Chelsea until the West Bromwich Albion game,’ he said. ‘The way the manager has come in, the way they’ve swept teams aside, they’ve kept clean sheets and scored goals.

‘They have bounced back (since West Brom) very well.’

The Premier League season has seven games to go and there are only four points between Leicester City, who are third, and sixth-placed Liverpool.

‘I think it will be Chelsea or Liverpool,’ the former goalkeeper said when asked who will make it. ‘I’d probably be on the side of Chelsea the way they’re going at the moment.

‘Momentum brings results. They’ve got a real opportunity to go to the Champions League final and a winning habit is as hard to get out of as a losing one.’
