Chelsea FC 1-0 Manchester City LIVE! FA Cup semi-final result, latest news and reaction from Thomas Tuchel

It's all eyes on Wembley this evening as the first FA Cup semi-final takes centre stage.

City look formidable as they continue their quadruple quest; the Premier League title is all but wrapped up, they are in next week’s Carabao Cup final against Tottenham and through to the Champions League semi-finals, where they will face PSG.

So the odds favour Pep Guardiola & Co., but, under Thomas Tuchel, Chelsea look up for the fight. Since the German's appointment, they have lost just once in a run of form only bettered by tonight’s opponents.

Chelsea's success has been based on solid defence and it will be interesting to see how they deal with City's attack as Tuchel comes up against Guardiola for the first time in English football.

The winner will face either Leicester City or Southampton in the final.

Thomas Tuchel has been speaking to the BBC...

“I’m very happy and proud of the team. We played against one of the strongest teams in Europe. There’s a big gap between us in the Premier League but the target was to close the gap for 90 minutes here. We played an excellent 35 minutes in the first half and an excellent half an hour in the second half.

“I think we deserved the win. We could have scored the second goal to make it more calm, but we didn’t and had to suffer in the last minutes of the match. We defended with a lot of courage and didn’t allow any big chances. We needed this performance. I’m happy we stole the win.”

If De Bruyne is out for even a relatively brief period, it would be a major blow to City’s hopes of ending the season with a treble of sorts.

The Premier League title is surely wrapped up, but Guardiola’s men are due back at Wembley next weekend to face Tottenham in the Carabao Cup final. That game comes only days before the first-leg of their Champions League semi-final meeting with Paris Saint-Germain.

De Bruyne injury 'doesn’t look good’

Pep Guardiola has given an update on Kevin De Bruyne, who was forced off with what looked like an ankle problem early in the second half.

“I don’t know,” Guardiola said. “It doesn’t look good. He has pain.”

The match winner, Hakim Ziyech, has been talking to the BBC...

“The second half was a bit difficult but we scored the one goal that we needed.

“You always have to have the feeling before the game that you want to score. It was a good delivery and I put it in easy.”

James Robson is at Wembley

You have to say Chelsea were well worth the win here. Tuchel got the big calls right - Guardiola didn’t. He loaded his attack with pace to exploit a City side he expected to have the better of the possession stats - and Werner and Ziyech were a constant threat. So it was no surprise they came up with the winning goal - and frankly a 1-0 defeat flatters City.
