Chelsea rise under Tuchel continues as Mount hands Liverpool historic Anfield loss

Chelsea have handed Liverpool their fifth-straight loss at Anfield thanks to a first-half goal from Mason Mount.

The Blues took up the ascendancy from the first whistle and should have been ahead through Timo Werner.

But the goal was overturned after VAR found the German offside by the slimmest of margins.

Liverpool didn't take the hint however as Chelsea soon after broke the deadlock with a goal which could not be ruined by technology.

Cutting in the from the right-side, Mount was given far too much space to pick out a precise shot past Alisson.

The Reds struggled mightily to display any passion or desire, managing just one shot on target for the match.

It is the first-time in their history that Liverpool have lost five consecutive matches at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp's men are now four points behind Chelsea, who moved into fourth-place with the victory.
