Chelsea handed Haaland boost, Chelsea get green light to sign Frenchman and Madrid to sell Varane in latest Chelsea news…

Andy Cole has claimed that Manchester United don’t have the pulling power to sign Chelsea target Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.

It is no secret that Haaland is one of the most deadly, sought after and impressive strikers in the game right now and is heavily tipped to pack his bags at the end of the season and leave Borussia Dortmund.

We have both been heavily linked with a move for the young man, who would cost around £72 million in the summer if they opted to buy him this transfer window, rather than in 12 months time.

“To get these guys to come, Haaland for instance, you’ve got to entice them with something,” The former Red Devils striker told the Daily Mirror.

“You’ve got to entice them with the possibility of winning silverware or being a year away from it. These guys are going to have other options, possibly Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Real Madrid, maybe Barcelona.

“If you’re playing and have the option of all these clubs, where would United really figure at this moment in time? Even though I love United, I don’t think the club now can ride on its name alone, especially when you’re trying to bring these players in.

“It’s not like when I signed for United. We have to be brutally honest, back then everybody wanted to go there. We’re talking 2021 now. Does everyone want to go to United now?

“I’m not quite sure everyone wants to now.”

Reports have claimed that Real Madrid are open to the idea of selling Raphael Varane in the summer window.

The club have spent some serious money over the past couple of transfer windows improving key areas of the pitch, but there is no doubt that they still need to bring in a premium centre-back to play alongside Thiago Silva, and then replace the great Brazilian.

There are a number of options out there for Tuchel to try and acquire, but it seems that there may be a real chance for us to try and seal a £100 million deal for Varane.

Marca have claimed, the 27-year-old, who has been virtually ever-present this season, has less than 18 months to run on his current contract with the Spanish giants and may be considering leaving the Bernabeu.

The Blancos are said to be waiting on offers for the World Cup-winning defender, who is only under contract until 2022 and has not entered into extension talks, BUT WILL NOT ACCEPT ANYTHING LESS THAT £100 MILLION for the defender.

Look, if there is a chance for the club to swoop in and get a transfer deal done for Varane, they should take it, he is a player that is one of the best in the game, and is just the type of statement signing that Tuchel needs.

As we said, Varane is one of the very best defenders in the game right now and a player that has won pretty much every trophy the game has to offer right now, so if the opportunity is there, they need to take it.

AC Milan technical director Paolo Maldini wants to hold talks with Chelsea over Fikayo Tomori’s permanent option clause.

Tomori is one of the highest rated young defenders that we have in the squad, but under Frank Lampard this season he was not given a chance to prove himself in that starting eleven on a weekly basis.

That meant that he pushed for a loan move away in the January window, in order to get some game time, and Italian giants AC Milan were the side that showed the most interest in getting a transfer deal done.

Maldini says he is pleased with Tomori’s performances since joining on loan in January and has now come out and admitted that the club are open to the idea of signing the defender on a more permanent basis, although his asking price of £26 million is a bit high

“Tomori is a good talent and we have an buy-option clause,” he told Sky in Italy ahead of their clash at Roma on Sunday.

“The price is very high. AC Milan will decide at the end of this season and we will discuss about it with Chelsea’s board.”

Tomori started at centre-back against Roma – his fourth in Serie A so far and fifth appearance over all since making the switch, so it is easy to see that he is getting the game time he has been seeking.

It would not be a surprise to see a transfer deal happen in the summer, especially if Tomori feels that staying in Italy is the best option for himself and his career in the game.

Thomas Tuchel will have something to say as he may feel that Tomori would be great to have in the squad, so it will be interesting to see how this plays out.
