Chelsea have held off a gallant Barnsley to book an FA Cup quarter-final with Sheffield United.

Tammy Abraham's second-half tap-in was enough for the Blues to claim victory at Oakwell.

Billy Gilmour made a defence splitting pass to find Reece James on the right-wing, and the England international set the ball up on a platter for Abraham to fire home the winner.

Despite being dominated in possession, Barnsley ended the game with 14 shots - four of which were on target - compared to Chelsea's six.

The Championship outfit's best two chances both came from Callum Brittain in the first-half, one which was denied by Kepa and another, after a well worked short corner, which ended up narrowly missing the far post.

Tammy Abraham also cleared Michael Sollbauer's shot off the line.

But Chelsea held on, and have now stretched their unbeaten run under new manager Thomas Tuchel to five matches.

However, the German will be frustrated with the performance of his team as they struggled to dominate in Yorkshire.

Hakim Ziyech was disappointing in his first start under Tuchel, while Christian Pulisic was ineffective.

Regardless, the Blues are now into the final eight where they will play Sheffield United on March 20 or 21.
