Chelsea spent more than £200million in the summer transfer window, which was Roman Abramovich's biggest spending spree since taking over the west London club in 2003.

The Blues splashed the cash, bringing in seven new players to Stamford Bridge to help Frank Lampard try and close the gap between his side and last season's top two, Liverpool and Manchester City.

The large sum of money spent over the summer means that a quiet January transfer window - in terms of incomings - was always to be expected.

However, there are still plenty of rumours concerning players that are set to leave the Blues this month, as well as Lampard planning ahead for the summer.

With all this being said, here is a round-up of the latest Chelsea-related transfer rumours and stories.

Chelsea transfer news Q&A and Fulham preview

Man Utd rival Chelsea for Rice

Manchester United are set to rival Chelsea for West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice in the summer, according to ESPN.

The Blues were heavily linked with Rice over the summer, and according to reports, their interest in the 22-year-old has carried through to this month.

However, according to the latest report, United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to continue strengthening his squad at the end of the season with a central defender, defensive midfielder and a forward the priorities.

The Norwegian has identified RIce as the holding midfielder he'd like to move to Old Trafford, and looks set to battle it out with Chelsea for his signature.

Milan push for Tomori

AC Milan are accelerating their pursuit of Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori this month, according to MilanNews.it.

Tomori has barely featured under Lampard in the Premier League this season, and the Blues boss has hinted at a loan move away for the centre-back.

Milan are one of the interested parties and after completing their first signing of the January window recently - with Soualiho Meite moving to the San Siro - the Italian club are now pushing to bring the Blues defender in.

The report claims that Stefano Pioli's side want the Englishman on a loan contract with an option to buy at the end of the season.

Chelsea want to keep Emerson

Chelsea are planning to keep hold of Emerson Palmieri beyond the end of the January window, unless they receive a sizeable offer for the left-back.

That's according to The Athletic, who are reporting the Blues' apparent change in stance, after previous reports stating that Lampard could offload the Italy international.

Emerson is behind Ben Chilwell being the first-choice left-back at Stamford Bridge, with Marcos Alonso also providing competition.

A number of Italian clubs are reportedly keen on the 26-year-old, but Chelsea now wish to keep him unless they receive an offer they deem too good to turn down.
