Beginning this weekend and running throughout the current lockdown, our new live online coaching sessions will be perfect to fulfil your Saturday morning training routine...

The latest nationwide lockdown restrictions have hit grassroots sport hard once again, with training on hold, matches suspended and the development of young players paused for the foreseeable future.

However, Chelsea FC have the perfect answer to fill your weekend training gaps with the launch of Coaches Corner Live, a series of weekly live coaching sessions to help young players stay active and maintain their training from home.

Led by Chelsea Academy and Foundation Coach Andrew Ottley, each session will provide players with opportunities to develop their technical skills, from agility and dribbling to passing, shooting and ball mastery. This will be done through a series of demonstrations, challenges and drills that can be followed from home, whether in the garden or somewhere appropriate indoors.

The best part is that all you need to get involved is a pair of boots, a ball and some markers, although these can be replicated with any safe household objects such as shoes, jumpers or plastic water bottles.

Sessions will be broadcast live on our official Facebook channel at 11am every Saturday throughout the remainder of this lockdown.

After each session, players can continue their development during the week using Perfect Play, the world’s number one football training app, developed with and used by the Chelsea Academy. The app’s technical and physical training drills have been taken directly from the club’s youth development programme.

Coaches Corner Live starts this Saturday 16 January from 11am on the Chelsea FC Facebook page.
