Chelsea linked with signing 6ft 3in South Korean international nicknamed ‘the monster’

Not really the name that anyone would have been expecting Chelsea to be linked with, but here we are.

The story, coming from The Daily Mirror, suggests that Chelsea are interested in signing Beijing Guoan centre-back, Kim Min-jae.

But they aren’t the only club interested…

Spurs are weighing up a bid for the 24-year old this month, amid growing concerns of competition from London rivals Chelsea.

The 6ft 3in tall South Korean international is nicknamed ‘the monster’ and is a highly rated defender, says the report.

He’s been capped 30 times for South Korea, and you would feel that if clubs like Tottenham and Chelsea are both keen on signing him, that he must certainly have something about him.

Chelsea do look likely to be on the hunt for a new centre back or two in the summer, and Min-jae fits the bill in terms of a commanding young defender but also with some experience.
