Chelsea owner Abramovich draws up manager shortlist - but Lampard safe for now

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has reportedly constructed a shortlist of managers in case he fires Frank Lampard.

The Blues have fallen away drastically over the festive period, having won just one of their last six Premier League games.

They now sit ten points off leaders Manchester United after being in top position in early December.

And according to Bild's Christian Falk, Abramovich has drawn up a five-man shortlist to replace Lampard if the poor results continue.

The list consists of Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers, Southampton's Ralph Hasenhuttl and RB Leipzig boss Julian Nagelsmann.

Out-of-work duo Thomas Tuchel and Massimiliano Allegri are also included.

Despite the plans, an exit for Lampard is not imminent.

It is believed Abramovich, notorious for sacking his managers, will allow the club legend enough time to recover Chelsea's league position.
