Chelsea head coach Frank Lampard's team selection for this lunchtime's FA Cup third round clash with League Two side Morecambe has sparked a reaction from the club's supporters.

After failing to win their last three Premier League matches, the Blues, who were defeated by Arsenal in last season's final of this competition, will be hoping to get back on track against a Morecambe side who have arrived at Stamford Bridge aiming to produce one of the biggest FA Cup upsets in recent years.

Despite having climbed to the top of the Premier League table in early-December, following a 3-1 win over Leeds United, Chelsea's form has fallen off a cliff in recent weeks, losing four of their last six Premier League outings.

However, with respect, the visit of Derek Adams' side to Stamford Bridge presents the Blues with the ideal opportunity to get themselves back on track ahead of a key period in the campaign.

Although it was expected that Lampard would blood a large number of his younger players into his starting line-up this lunchtime, the Chelsea chief has, despite making a few tweaks, gone for a much stronger line-up than first thought, with the likes of Kai Havertz, Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech all starting.

In total, Lampard has made six changes to the side that was beaten 3-1 by Manchester City last Sunday, with the likes of Kepa Arrizabalga, Antonio Rudiger and Billy Gillmour amongst those to come in.

Chelsea starting line-up: Kepa; Azpilicueta, Zouma, Rudiger, Emerson; Gilmour, Havertz, Mount; Ziyech, Werner, Hudson-Odoi.

As expected, Lampard's decision to go with such a strong line-up with key Premier League fixtures looming, starting with Friday night's clash with west London rivals Fulham at Craven Cottage, has left a lot of Chelsea fans surprised.
