90+2min: FULL TIME. Chelsea win!

90+1min: Abraham tries to bully his way through on goal after a pass from Pulisic, but can’t quite do so.

90min: Kepa sees a bit of action as he punches clear a cross from a deep free kick. 2 minutes added on.

88min: Giroud comes close to making it five.

85min: GOAL! Havertz finishes off an Azpilicueta cross with a well-taken header. 4-0, CHELSEA!

83min: Giroud forces a shot on the turn, but it’s blocked and the goalkeeper can collect.

80min: Anjorin on for Hudson-Odoi. Tomori on for Zouma.

78min: Azpi looks for Giroud with a cross, but Morecambe defend it for a corner. Hudson-Odoi takes it low, and somehow no one’s able to turn it towards goal.

76min: Morecambe free kick just outside the corner of the penalty area, left side. They win the header, but it’s a high looping effort that’s easily claimed by Kepa.

74min: Hudson-Odoi latest cross from the right is cleared for a corner just ahead of Pulisic. Mount takes the outswinger, finding Giroud, but he can’t keep his header down. Mount replaced by Tammy Abraham.

72min: Hudson-Odoi creating more danger from the right after a 1-2 with Havertz, but this time his low cross is cleared ahead of Giroud.

71min: Two excellent saves from Halstead keeps the score at 3-0. Havertz and Mount denied from close range after some quality interplay on the right from CHO and Azpilicueta.

68min: Giroud and Pulisic on for Werner and Ziyech.

65min: Ziyech and Havertz combine on the right. The latter’s cutback is cleared only as far as the former, but his first-time volley lacks power and accuracy.

62min: Morecambe make a triple change. No changes yet for Chelsea.

60min: Havertz and Mount combine brilliantly on the right, but the latter’s cutback doesn’t quite reach Hudson-Odoi at the penalty spot.

59min: Rudiger with a Ziyech-esque pass over the top for Ziyech, but he can’t quite get the ball under control and the goalkeeper grabs it.

56min: Chelsea make easy work of a Morecambe deep free kick. At the other end, a move between Werner and Havertz breaks down with the latter called for a foul.

49min: GOALLL!!!! HUDSON-ODOI! Ziyech chips over the defensive line, with Hudson-Odoi breaking the offside trap. He has time and space to bring it down and power past the goalkeeper. 3-0, CHELSEA!

48min: Morecambe try to counter, but Havertz tracks back well on the left flank to cover. At the other end, Ziyech plays in Azpilicueta, but his cutback doesn’t quite find a blue foot. Mount eventually gets on the ball, but his shot is blocked before Havertz and Emerson get in each other’s way.

SECOND HALF: No changes for either side as Chelsea restart proceedings.

HALF-TIME: Chelsea lead, 2-0.

45+1min: Another chance for Chelsea but Werner doesn’t pull the trigger and then both he and Ziyech seem be leaving it for each other and Morecambe can clear.

44min: GOOOOALLLL!! WERNER!!! A classic Ziyech cross finds Havertz at the far post, he heads back across, and here comes Werner to tap it home. Easy as you like. 2-0, CHELSEA!

43min: Mount and Ziyech shift left, and combine with Emerson well. Mount then plays infield to Werner, but his return ball on the 1-2 is just a bit too strong and the ball runs out for a goal kick.

40min: Chelsea combine well down the right, Mount and Ziyech with the former’s cross blocked for a corner. Mount himself takes, outswinging, but Rudiger’s again called for a foul in the area to let the visitors out.

38min: CHO’s latest cross from the byline is again blocked for a corner. Ziyech takes it, finding Havertz all alone ten yards out, but he gets his header all wrong.

35min: Chelsea pass it around, then Ziyech looks for Hudson-Odoi at the far post. The cross is cleared before it could reach its target.

34min: Phillips tries to replicate his earlier lucky effort with a bit more intention, but Kepa catches the wide-angle long shot.

31min: Mount plays in Hudson-Odoi. He tries to pick out Havertz making the far post run, but a leg intervenes for a corner. The referee spots a foul in the ensuing tussle and gives Morecambe a free kick.

28min: Ziyech skips past his man and chips in towards the far post. Morecambe take no chances and head out for a corner, which Ziyech takes, outswinging. Morecambe clear the area, but Chelsea able to put in a second cross. It’s over Zouma’s head, but the half-clearance falls to Werner, who can’t quite wrap his foot around it and his acrobatic effort flies well over the bar.

25min: Rudiger gives away a foul and Morecambe build from the free kick. A ball into the area is half-cleared, then Emerson puts it out for a throw. Morecambe threaten from there thanks to an awkward piece of defending by Havertz, who’s only able to flick on the throw, but fortunately no one’s arriving on the far post and Chelsea can clear.

22min: Ziyech loses the ball, then wins it back, playing infield. Emerson goes for goal from 25 again, forcing a save from the goalkeeper. Werner can’t quite direct the rebound on target.

20min: Emerson, infield again, goes for a first-time effort from 25 yards. Blocked for a corner. Ziyech takes the outswinger this time, Rudiger again there first at the near post, but his side-foot effort is well over the bar.

18min: GOALLL! MASON MOUNT! Wide open birthday boy Mason Mount takes aim from 25 yards. The closing down is lazy, and Mount’s shot is true as it arrows into the low corner. 1-0, CHELSEA!

16min: Ziyech looks for Havertz with a through ball, which doesn’t quite reach its target. Emerson, of all players, picks up the loose ball in the center of the box, but is crowded out before he could get a shot off.

14min: Chelsea’s first corner, taken by Mount. The outswinger finds Rudiger at the near post, but he makes a mess of his flick and it’s a goal kick for the visitors.

12min: Morecambe with a foray forward, with a nice 1-2 in the right channel. Phillips mis-hits a cross, which almost catches Kepa out! He just manages to grab the ball and keep from sliding into the net with it!

9min: Rudiger goes for goal from 30. Are we to that stage already? It’s hit low and blocked easily.

8min: Chelsea find Havertz in the area, but he can’t quite combine with Werner. The loose ball finds Mount, who goes for a shot that’s blocked. The rebound runs to Emerson, who slices an effort wide of the goal.

6min: Ball down the right finds Ziyech, but he gets his pass into the area all wrong. Chelsea’s next attack is down the left, and where it’s Hudson-Odoi’s turn to overhit a cross.

3min: Hudson-Odoi swtiches the ball to Ziyech, he lifts the ball towards the far post, where Werner can’t direct his header on target with a defender in close attention.

2min: An early foray from Morecambe’s rebuffed and Chelsea settle into some early possession. A cross from Azpilicuta’s cleared.

KICK-OFF: A disappointing matchday squad selection from Lampard, featuring no new names or potential debutants. But, it is what it is. The teams are out, Chelsea in the usual blue, Morecambe in a Manchester United-esque red, white, black. Everyone takes a knee, and we’re off, with the visitors getting the ball rolling.
