Chelsea will not consider a straight loan release for Emerson Palmieri in January.

The former AS Roma defender is a target for Serie A clubs - and Chelsea are prepared to do business, but will insist on a permanent sale.

Chelsea have informed interested clubs that Emerson will only leave for a straight cash sale or on-loan with an obligation to buy in June, says Corriere dello Sport.

Napoli and Inter Milan are both in contact with Chelsea for the Italy international.

At Inter, he would be reunited with former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte, while Napoli see him as a replacement for wantaway left-back Faouzi Ghoulam.
