Chelsea's Premier League form has been underwhelming for supporters and Frank Lampard in recent weeks.

The Blues have won just one league game in their last five outings and with the January transfer window edging ever closer, Lampard could be tempted to ask for some more funds.

Roman Abramovich provided more than £200million for his club to bring in a host of new talent over the summer, but in order to keep improving, the mid-season window may have to be utilised.

As well as this, there are a few players in the Blues squad that could be looking for the exit door at Stamford Bridge next month.

With all this in mind, here are the latest Chelsea-related transfer stories and rumours.

Blues in Sancho race

Chelsea are set to join Manchester United and Liverpool in the race to sign Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho.

That's according to the Que Golazo podcast, who are reporting that the Blues are keeping a close eye on the Sancho situation - with the England star looking likely to leave Dortmund in the near future.

Man United looked like the favourites to sign him in the summer, but could not agree on a price with Dortmund.

However, any deal for the 20-year-old will have to wait until the end of the season, with the Bundesliga giants not entertaining the idea of selling him next month.

Chelsea backed to sign Poulsen

Former Chelsea man Tony Cascarino has said his old club should look at signing RB Leipzig striker Yussuf Poulsen.

Poulsen played with Timo Werner back in Leipzig - with the latter thriving alongside the Denmark international, and now, Cascarino has addressed this.

“It’s a tricky one, because I’ve seen a lot of Werner and when he was at Leipzig he played alongside Poulsen who is a big centre-forward, and he played off the left of him and thrived," he told talkSPORT.

“It’s a bit like Michael Owen; Michael Owen without Emile Heskey was never going to be the same player."

Havertz 'regretting transfer'

According to SportBILD journalist Raymond Hinko (via the Express ), Kai Havertz will be regretting his move from Bayer Leverkusen to Chelsea in the summer.

It's been a slow start for Havertz since arriving at Stamford Bridge, after a reported £70m move from Germany.

“Kai Havertz, even if he doesn’t say it out loud, will have already cursed a hundred times that he moved from Leverkusen to the midfield bores of Chelsea, following the lure of money,” Hinko wrote for BILD.

“Everything went to pieces. No celebrating Christmas, far away from his family, trapped on the island, not even strumming a few contemplative songs on his piano."
