Chelsea were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Aston Villa on Monday evening as their slump in form continued.

Frank Lampard's side still sit in sixth place, six points behind Liverpool at the Premier League summit.

The Blues were busy in the summer window, spending more than £200million as Lampard looked to build a side capable of winning the title.

But January could still see ins and out as he continues to put his stamp on the squad.

There have been winners and losers in the Chelsea team as they begin to get a settled starting XI.

With that in mind we take a look at the latest transfer rumours from west London with the January transfer window just round the corner.

Marcos Alonso is in talks to join Atletico Madrid on loan next month, according to The Independent.

The Spain left-back has had very little game time this season following the signing of Ben Chilwell.

Alonso was born and raised in Madrid so the move makes sense from a personal stand point, and he could soon be lining up under Diego Simeone.

Granovskaia identifies top January target

According to a report by The Athletic, Chelsea transfer chief Marina Granovskaia is ready to give Lampard the signing he’s been waiting for - Declan Rice.

The Blues failed to get the West Ham midfielder in the summer along with all their other new additions.

But it is claimed that Granovskaia is willing to splash the cash on Rice, as long as that is their only move this winter.

Out of favour goalkeeper Willy Caballero is reportedly interested in a move to the MLS, and has begun ‘exploring options’ to move to America.

That is also from The Athletic, who believe that the Argentine stopper is looking for another job before hanging up his gloves.

Caballero is now below both Edouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga in the pecking order, and his time at the club is expected to come to an end when his contract runs out in the summer.
