Chelsea are reportedly close to agreeing a potential transfer deal for Sevilla defender Jules Kounde.
The talented 23-year-old has shone in La Liga and looks like he will surely earn himself a big move in the near future, with Chelsea making sense as a destination due to their defensive issues.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, the Blues are close to finalising the details on a transfer package that could come to a total of €60million for Kounde, who would move to Stamford Bridge in the summer.
Chelsea have done deals similar to this in the past, with Christian Pulisic a recent example of a player who stayed at previous club Borussia Dortmund for a further six months even after a move to west London was put in place.
Kounde seems ideal to come in as an important part of Chelsea’s defence next season, with Thomas Tuchel in need of replacements for a few of their out-of-contract stars.
CFC have Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen and Cesar Azpilicueta all out of contract at the end of the season, and if they all leave at once it would be a huge blow.
Signing Kounde would undoubtedly go a long way to repairing the damage.
Great deal it will be for Chelsea FC. Joules Kounde’s deal has to go through. The other top priority signings should also be Sosa, Saint Maximin, Frenkie De Jong/ nicolo Barella and Micail Antonio/ Halaand. Christensen’s contract should be renewed and sold and sold in the summer to recoup more funds, Rudiger’s deal a must renewal and Odoi/Pulisic can be sold in the summer as well.

Should they let Christensen go, it will be a big blow. I would rather let Rudiger go than Christensen. A backline of Reece James, Kounde, Christensen and Chiwel with Silva and Chalobah providing cover will be sweet. Christensen is more intelligent than Rudiger and does not panic plus he’s from our academy. That lad is super good. I’d be dissapointed to see him leave. +263-777-220-416

We are desperately in need of LB/LWB as a priority cause Alonslow cant defend. Sarr played OK there but we really need someone who plays that position.
CB I’d prefer Christensen stayed over Rudiger who works well in a back 3 but no so much in a back 4. There is another option with the possiblity of Sule on a free.
Midfield I’d like Tchouaméni as Kante is getting injury prone and aint getting any younger, along with another midfielder.
A striker is needed as I have never rated (trampoline touch) Lukaku, should never have been brought back for 90+ million.
We shouldn’t waste time/money on Hazard either as his best days are behind him at 31 and we would not be getting the old hazard back its just delusional to think otherwise.
Sell Pulisic as he’s injury prone and not done enough to justify keeping. Sell Alonslow can’t defend and doesnt even offer that much going forward now either. Sell Barkley as he just isn’t consistent enough and return Saul as I think we can do better as he has not shown enough to warrant keeping him.
