Chelsea reportedly looking to do a Hakim Ziyech-type deal to secure new centre back

Chelsea might not be too busy with any January transfer business right now as we enter the final week of the window, but according to reports, they are working on a deal for the summer.

As we have seen in past times at the club, they often like to complete deals to sign players for them to then arrive in a later transfer window, for example like when they signed Hakim Ziyech from Ajax. The deal was done, but he didn’t arrive until some months later.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, they are now trying to do a similar deal with Jules Kounde from Sevilla, who they tried to sign last summer.

But now they are trying to hash out a deal with his club now to agree the move for this summer, which would wisely stop any potential competition coming in for him.

They believe an arrangement of 55 million euros ‘seems close’ to being agreed.
