Chelsea expand away dressing room after multiple complaints

Like many teams, especially those lower down the football pyramid, Chelsea have a much nicer home dressing room than away dressing room at Stamford Bridge.

But now it seems the disparity is going to be shrunk a little, after it was revealed by The Athletic today that the area assigned to the away team has been expanded.

There had been complaints by Southampton manager Ralph Hassenhuttl about the facilities last season, and Brighton more recently have had issues with a lack of space.

The straw that broke the camel’s back seems to have been Liverpool. who said that there wasn’t sufficient space to stay Covid compliant, and saw their assistant coach Pep Lijnders test positive after he took charge of their 2-2 draw at the Bridge at the start of January.

The club have now knocked through into the media area in order to expand the facilities for the away team.
